Fuel scarcity:How man, two daughters were burnt to death after stored fuel causes fire...



The Lagos State Fire Service has confirmed the death of a middle-aged man simply identified as Shade and his two daughters Mistura, 18 years old and Adura, 16 years old who were killed in a fire incident that occurred at 5 Adeniyi Street, Shomolu Oja, Lagos State on Tuesday.
The inferno reportedly razed down the entire apartment, destroying property worth millions of Naira.
An eyewitness, Ibrahim Bala, disclosed that ‘the fire was caused by indiscriminate storage of Petroleum Premium Spirit, PMS also known as petrol, by the father.’
Confirming the incident on Wednesday, the Director of the Fire Service, Rasak Fadipe, said the man lit a stove along the corridor of their house, close to where he stored petrol in a plastic Jerrycan.
“Their bodies have been deposited at the hospital,” Fadipe said.
